Google has been coming out with some new updates and they're changing the way a lot of content writers do business on the Internet. In short you need to understand what Google is looking for now and at the top of the list is well written content. That doesn't just mean grammatically correct text, it means text that has the right kind of links and proper use of keywords. No more keywords stuffing and buying links that don't relate at all to your site.
